Vol 1, 1871 (Nos 1-7), Urdu   by Sir Syed Ahmed
After returning from England, Sir Syed started the journal “Tehzibul Akhlaq” on 24th Dec. 1870 with the idea of reforming Muslim’s religious thinking and putting them on the road to progress. Of the 459, articles published in Tehzibul Akhlaq, 208 were written by Sir Syed. He focused more upon social and educational reforms than on politics. There is hardly any aspect of social life which has not been addressed by Sir Syed. The following Arabic motto appeared on the 1st page of each issue “The love of one’s own nation is an article of faith. Whoever strives to ennoble his nation, also ennoble his religion.
